Turn off Security Center Alerts

Security Center constantly monitors possible ways that malware might use to gain access to your system. This is good idea and you should keep on as many of the alerts as possible.

However, for some situations this just doesn't work. If so, it is recommended to disable that one option, not the whole alert.

• Anti-virus software is not installed or not working
• The firewall is disabled or not up and running
• Windows is not set to check for security updates automatically
• User Account Control manager (UAC) is disabled
• Internet settings are not configued for security

You may also change the way Security Center notifies you:

• Notify and show tray icon (recommended)
• Only show a tray icon
• No alert at all (not recommended)
